Netris, the leading IPTV integrator and provider of Multimedia Network applications, and leading telecom operator Kazakhtelecom announce that the first milestone has been reached in the all-Kazakhstan IPTV deployment with the launch of a new IPTV service in Astana.

Netris has developed and provided JSC Kazakhtelecom with a state-of-art IPTV System that encompasses analysis, design, integration and deployment services. The system is powered by IPSoft iVision IPTV Middleware, Netris’ advanced platform for interactive service delivery and protected by the Encryptonite ONE System, SecureMedia’s leading CA/DRM solution. IPSoft iVision IPTV Middleware is a carrier-class service delivery platform to empower interactive multimedia and communication services for IPTV fixed and mobile networks. This efficient, reliable and flexible platform is built on open standard interfaces and is integrated with leading third party components including OSS/BSS and IP STBs. The platform is designed to provide a core IPTV service functionality, interoperability of components, and a friendly user interface to access Broadcast over IP, video on demand (VoD), PVR facilities, timeshift, electronic programme guide, Internet TV, High Definition TV and other services.

“Kazakhtelecom is the first national provider in CIS-countries to move to a Next Generation network (NGN) in the scale of the country”, said Askar Yesserkegenov, Chief Commercial Director at Kazakhtelecom. “One of the NGN advantages is multiservice and we are going to offer our subscribers a package of interactive services consisted of well-known IPTV and VoD services and absolutely new services specially designed for us by Netris”.

“This deployment by Netris is very special”, said Alexey Bugay, CEO at Netris. “As a systems integrator and supplier of middleware Netris is in charge of end-to-end system installation and development. We are proud of this deployment as it is the result of our creativity and experience”.

“The solution designed for Kazakhtelecom is very flexible and it allows launch of new interactive services. It enables the operator to build a long-term strategy with a sense that the capability of the basic platform allows him to сreate a greater variety of products,” adds Murad Efendiev, CTO at Netris. “Time to market advantage enables Kazakhtelekom to make its subscribers wishes come true – both in terms of timescale and in detail”.

Under the company's three-year plan to 2010, IPTV will be introduced in all regions of Kazakhstan, as part of its increasing focus on the provision of triple-play services. The main components of the concept of triple-play are Internet access, telephony services and television. The strategy to provide a number of advantages to subscribers of Kazakhtelecom includes one point of sales and support, one bill to pay for all telecommunications services, reducing costs by receiving services in a «package».
